about me . . .

In 2014 we purchased a farmhouse built in 1897 on the plains of Kansas. We call it “The Noah Farm” because the name Noah means “rest”.  This is the story of our restoration of this house, land, and our search for rest in the midst of chaos.  We hope this blog will encourage you to dream big and also to find the inner rest of the soul that we all long for.

“ Thrive” is a word on my mind a lot lately as “ Thrive” is a word on my mind a lot lately as I think about what thrives in my garden and what has struggled due to the high salt content in our well water. Sunflowers 🌻🌻🌻definitely thrive here in Kansas heat and made a beautiful fence cover for our lagoon. The struggle to get anything out of my garden has been frustrating and discouraging these last few years, but by persevering I am learning more than ever. All our ducks we hatched from eggs are now living All our ducks we hatched from eggs are now living on another farm with a real pond. When we had our well water tested, the same guy also told us our ducks were destroying our lagoon so they had to go. 😕.
